FINO PayTech appointed bank mitras extends PMJDY and social security schemes in rural Uttar Pradesh for Union Bank of India

Varanasi/Ghazipur, September 22, 2016: In association with Union Bank of India’s Financial Inclusion Department, payments technology company FINO PayTech today organized a camp at Dewa village in Ghazipur district on financial literacy and financial inclusion.

Around 300 bank mitras working on PMJDY scheme in the districts of Azamgarh, , Jaunpur, Ballia, Chandauli, Mau and Gazipur attended the camp presided by the Chief Guest Shri. P.C. Panigrahi, GM, Department of Financial Inclusion, Union Bank of India.

Explaining the important of financial literacy at the camp, Mr. P.C. Panigrahi, GM- Dept of Financial Inclusion, Union Bank of India said, “Through Jan Dhan Yojana, bank mitras helped open bank accounts for millions of unbanked people. To make them financially included in the real sense, it is important that customers are aware and have access to various banking and financial products, including the various social security schemes introduced by the Government.

Urging bank mitras to use Aadhar and micro ATMs for creating awareness and access, Mr. Panigrahi further added, “PMJDY and government security schemes such as Atal Pension, PMJJBY, PMSBY should reach the interiors of the state and benefit as many people as possible.”

Addressing the camp, Mr. Vikaas Goel, EVP, FINO PayTech said, “More than 1050 bank mitras have been providing PMJDY services in these 6 districts on behalf of Union Bank. Under the bank’s guidance and support, we will intensify our efforts in the right direction in achieving the desired results of financial literacy and financial inclusion.”

FINO’s micro ATM allows bank mitras to handle Aadhaar as well as Rupay card based transactions of all banks.

Mr. Panigrahi felicitated 10 bank mitras at the camp with “Best Bank Mitra Services” award for their exceptional services to customers. They were awarded in the presence of Union Bank of India officials, FINO representatives, general public and media.
